I was given this Advanced Reader Copy by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This book was such a cute read and was so much fun. Most of the time when it says YA, it's not TRUE Young Adult. This is a book that I would feel comfortable giving to my younger cousins or family friends to read. It's got the fun rivalry going between the boarding schools. It has a variety of diverse characters, a strong female lead, and of course, my favorites, fake dating AND enemies to lovers. The book also touches on a number of real life issues like bullying, sexual assault, dysfunctional families, among others.
When the head of The Weston School announces a merger between the rival school Winfield Academy, Senior Doe is LIVID. And rightfully so! She's spent the last three years working on pranks to win the century-long war between the boys and girls schools. Her ultimate rival, Three, knows exactly how Doe ticks and he definitely knows something about this merger. Desparate to win against Three, Doe makes a deal with his cousin, Wells. But as the pranks escalate throughout senior year, so do Doe's feelings for Wells. Lie after lie have a way of piling up, and when Doe is caught in the middle she has to learn what's important in life, and it may not be this war.
Great for people who enjoy:
"You're making bad decisions, Doe. It's hard to watch."
Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault
